How Do I Get a P&C Insurance in California?
There are several steps you will want to take to receive your P&C broker license in the state of California, including:
-
Schedule an exam. P&C broker candidates can apply for a P&C license by first scheduling an examination. There are two exams required in the state of California: Property Broker-Agent and the Casualty Broker-Agent licensing exam. You can apply to take the exams at PSI and follow their testing measures after scheduling.
-
File for your new license. Once your exams are scheduled, you can file for a new license through the California Department of Insurance. You will then again want to apply for both the Property Broker-Agent and Casualty Broker-Agent license type on your application.
-
Wait for results. Once you pass your exams and your licensing application is completed, follow the steps provided to you by the California Department of Insurance.
